Indian Institute of Technology Ropar (IIT Ropar) is recruiting candidates for 1 project-based vacancy for the Project Research Scientist – I post. The position carries a pay of Rs. 56,000 + 10% HRA /month as per ICMR norms, with an engagement tenure of three years or up to the termination of project subject to annual performance review. Who Can Apply

Candidates must hold a Master’s or PhD Degree in Materials Science, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Lifesciences, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Pharmacy, or other medical or life science related subjects. The position is open with or without GATE, NET, CSIR-UGC, or other qualifying exams. Applicants must not be more than 30 years old as on the closing date of application, with age relaxation applicable as per the norms or orders of the Government of India.

An ideal candidate should possess the following attributes and experience:

• Understanding of bone or musculoskeletal system
• Hands-on experience in a wet-lab environment
• Proficiency in tissue processing, histological work, and designing & executing animal studies
• Ability to design and execute biomolecular testing protocols
• Biomedical translational and collaborative acumen
• Prior clinical interactions or industry experience (preferable)

Pay and Tenure

The selected Project Research Scientist – I receives a consolidated salary of Rs. 56,000/- plus 10% HRA per month in accordance with ICMR norms. The project duration is three years or up to the termination of the project, subject to an annual performance review. Candidates may also be considered for alternative opportunities based on their performance on the project.

The selected candidate will work on a high-impact ICMR-funded project involving IIT Ropar and PGIMER Chandigarh titled “A Novel Two-in-One Orthobiologic Injectable for Treating Bone Infections and Defects”. Responsibilities include tissue processing, histological work, designing and executing animal studies, and designing and executing biomolecular testing protocols within a wet-lab environment.
