Indian Bureau of Mines has invited applications on a deputation basis for Regional Controller of Mines, Senior Assistant Controller of Mines, and Assistant Controller of Mines posts. Candidates can submit their applications by email or by post to the Ministry of Mines on or before 4 November 2026, starting from 5 October 2026. Eligibility requires a Bachelor or Master of Engineering in Mining Engineering along with the specified years of experience varying by post. The notified pay scales are Level-13 (Rs. 1,23,100-2,15,900) for Regional Controller of Mines, Level-11 (Rs. 67,700-2,08,700) for Senior Assistant Controller of Mines, and Level-10 (Rs. 56,100-1,77,500) for Assistant Controller of Mines.

Posts, Eligibility and Pay

Regional Controller of Mines Eligibility: Officers of the Central Government or State Government or Union territories or autonomous or statutory organisation or public sector undertakings or University or recognised research institution holding analogous posts on regular basis in the parent cadre or department; or with five years regular service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in posts in level 12 in the pay matrix (Rs. 78800- 209200); and possessing Bachelor or Master of Engineering in Mining Engineering with twelve or ten years experience respectively in Metalliferous (non-coal) mines in management position or in Government Department dealing with mines and minerals as Gazetted Officer.

Senior Assistant Controller of Mines Eligibility: Officers of the Central Government or State Government or Union territories or autonomous or statutory organisation or public sector undertakings or University or recognised research institution holding analogous post on regular basis in the parent cadre or department; or with two years regular service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in Level-9 (Rs. 53100-167800) in the pay matrix or Level 8 (Rs 47600 -151000) in the pay matrix; and possessing educational qualifications and experience prescribed for direct recruitment.

Assistant Controller of Mines Eligibility: Assistant Mining Engineer in the pay matrix (Rs. 44900-142400) with five years regular service after appointment thereto and successfully completed training.

Selection Process

Appointment is made on a deputation including short term contract basis through consultation with the Union Public Service Commission.
